I subscribe to Barry Habib’s Mortgage Market Guide and he has often given me some insight into what is happening in the mortgage market that I was unable to find elsewhere. Tax Credit or Loan Modification?
I just read an interesting article by Thomas Oliver in the Atlanta Journal Constitution about how Realtors®, Mortgage Bankers and Mortgage Brokers were all in favor of extending and/or expanding the First Time Home Buyer (FTHB) Tax Credit. I agree, I think extending it is a great idea. I think expanding it might be helpful, but am concerned about the increasing cost and am withholding judgment on that one. Read More

Stimulus Signed – First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit = $8,000
I just received this from the Mortgage Market Guide and it gives a little more information about the First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit included in the Stimulus Bill that was just signed into law. There will be a lot more information coming about what parts of the bill will be the most effective in helping people get back to work and working on the consumer confidence.
